Berkeley Tries Squirrel
Birth Control
The PIXPage Staff
There's
a population boom in Berkeley and it's driving some health officials a
little nuts.
Masses of squirrels are taking up residence at the Berkeley Marina, and
county officials say the critters are causing environmental and health
problems. So in the next several weeks, they'll give the squirrels drugs
to reduce their sex drive, and temporarily sterilize them.
The project won't cost anything because officials will use experimental
drug donated by the USDA.
